HINGED DOOR/WINDOW COMPLETE WITH NET AND ALL NECESSARY ACCESSORIES / R50 SYSTEM

Technical Description

R50 system has been designed to produce aluminium windows and doors at top quality standards. The test resulting of R50 system shows excellent figures thanks to the most advanced tecnological achievements in the field over the last few years. R50 system permits the costruction of casement doors and windows. Thanks to sealing with central weatherstrips, a rigid one on the wing and a flexible one on the frame, a wholly reversible base profile is available to be used either as a wing or a frame. The accessories are mounted outside the profiles and fixed with security dowels without tooling or drilling, thus cutting assembly time.

Technical Specifications

- Tubolar dimensions of reversible base profiles: mm 18x50 and mm 42x50
- Tubolar dimensions of additional profiles for coplanar doors and windows: mm 18x58 and mm 42x58
- Fin of rabbet: mm 22 - overlap of the frame rabbet on wing: mm 8
- Sealing system with two possibilities: a) - Rigid central weatherstrip on wing and flexible weatherstrip on frame; b) - Conventional weatherstrips on rabbet
- The distance between casing and wing for the insertion of accessories is 24 mm (tolerance +1/-0).

Glazing
All types of glass can be used with this system and double-glazing in 4-39 mm thickness. The glass is blocked with glass beadings and weatherstrips.

Weatherstrips
Original Alcoa (marketed by Alutec). Internal and/or external rabbet in EPDM or PVC Biflex. For open joint in EPDM.

Necessary sealing
Between aluminium frame and subframe; on external side of glass in special channel; wooden dowel central knot before the insertion in to the profile; in the cut 45° frame and wing before assembling it with the set square; in the weatherstrips frame and wing.

General Notes

Sections
Extruded 6060 (UNI 9006/1) aluminium alloy, T5 state, suitable for anodic oxidisation and painting.

Sections weight
The weight indicated is theoretical and may vary according to the tickness tolerance of the section in accordance with UNI 3879 standards.

Surface treatment
The surface treatment of anodic oxidation, electrocoloring and painting carried out in the Alcoa Italia plants comply with everything laid down by the standards required by the Qualanod trademarks (for oxidation) and Qualicoat (for painting).

Tolerances on dimensions
In accordance with UNI 3879 standards.

Maximun frame size
When defining the maximum sizes of the various types of frame, as well as the construction elements (cross section type of wall fixing, glass thickness and type) you must also consider the condutions of use and climatic variations (exposure, wind speed, local agents, height installed above ground etc.)
For this purpose to UNCSAAL requirements.

Corrosion
Royal, well aware of the serious problem related to filiform corrosion, especially in areas closed to the sea, in addition to the normal technical construction guaranteed by the European standard, will follow some important rules:
1. Corner – cleats and connecting plate will be extruded alloy EN AW 6060 (different from the ones generally used)
2. Will use stainless steel screws and any other metallic parts
3. Trim part and the other metallic ones, will be sealed with special glue
4. Will avoid condensation of backwater through ventilation holes
5. Will pay attention during installation using neutral silant
6. Will treat the surface (oxidation) after cut and any other procession in order to avoid non protected areas
7. Will give preference to oxidation instead of varnishing

/ DOMAL SLIDE 56/84

Introduction

Weight of profiles and gaskets
The weight may vary according to dimensions and thickness tolerances as established by EN standards. (EN 12020/2 for profiles and UNI
9122 for gaskets).

Extrusion alloy
Profiles are extruded with alloy EN AW 6060- supplying state T5

Profiles length
The commercial length of profiles is mm. 6.500.

Profiles dimensions
Dimensions may vary according to extrusion tolerances (EN 12020/2). This variation may result more evident in the cavities for the insertion of fittings and gaskets. The connections, too, may be subject to dimensions variations. In case of painted profiles, the small cavities, especially those for gaskets, may be sensibly reduced by the paint thickness.

Reference dimensions
L and H dimensions refer to the hollow chambers of the profile, and generally they correspond to the references reported on the cutting machines.

Windows dimensions
To calculate the windows dimensions it is necessary to take into account different factors: the profiles moment of inertia, the dimensions and weight of the glazing or of the panel, the dimensions of the movable parts, quality and capacity load of the accessories, the kind and number of fastenings to the wall, the installation conditions (height, exposure, wind, etc.). These factors can be estimated based on the practical know-how, on technical catalogues and descriptions and on UNCSAAL specifications.

Painting
In order to limit the filiform corrosion phenomenon the following important rules should be respected: seal the cut parts, avoid the gathering of condensation inside the
window, be very careful during installation. Thermal-break profiles, if painted, need a thermal pre-treatment at 180° C (-0° +20°) for about 20-22 minutes. During the whole painting process the profiles need to be placed on adequate supports in order to keep their original straightness and not undergo deformations.

Technical Description

Extruded aluminium profiles: alloy EN AW 6060
Supplying state: T 5
Dimension and thickness tolerances: EN 12020/2
Air permeability and water tightness: brush with central fin HI-FIN

Glazing Installation
Direct, without glazing bead (available space from 10 to 26 mm.).

Basic Dimensions
Windows: fixed frame 2 rails: 84 mm. / sash frame: 32 mm.
Doors: fixed frame 2 rails: 84 mm. / sash frame: 32 mm.

Use
Windows: The system allows for the construction of sliding windows with 2,3,4 or more sashes. Special profiles allow to combine this system with fixed parts (upper, lower
or side frames) or with the casement windows of the R50 systems.
